“Hello Monday!! So glad to be here with you today” said Nobody, ever.
If you have an 8-5 job Monday through Friday, you know the feeling of freedom for the weekend. Your time to sleep in, run errands, play, relax, or do nothing. No boss breathing down your neck or co-workers driving you crazy. You turn off the stress of the work week and enjoy YOUR time.
Then Sunday evening rolls around. You get an uneasy feeling as you begin to think of the piles of work you left on your desk on Friday. Your mind turns into a calendar and all your thoughts become entwined with upcoming meetings, presentations, sales calls, reports to write, your boss, and your co-workers (the difficult ones). You get this feeling in the pit of your stomach because you know Monday is looming. Hallmark’s characters, Hoops and Yoyo, sum up what you’re feeling in this little video.
Hoops and Yoyo make light of the anxieties we feel toward work. Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, you have been made to work. It doesn’t have to be so stressful if you can heed this advice from Colossians 3:23,
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men
May you find peace with Monday, and every day, through this Bible verse.
