Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24

You Are Welcome Here

The church I attend has been blessed with a new Pastor last year. Pastor Dave is young, energetic, intelligent and has this ordinary yet welcoming persona. He is a breath of fresh air to a church that sorely needed a permanent Pastor. Because of his spirit-filled leadership, our weekly attendance and family membership is experiencing a growth spurt.

In November 2013, we celebrated our 50th anniversary as a congregation. Pastors who led our church flock in prior years, with the exception of those deceased and that one that left so abruptly, were invited to the well-thought-out plans and festivities. It was a homecoming where greetings were hugs, not handshakes, and friendships picked up right where they left off. We had one special church service that weekend and Pastor Dave opened with the most welcoming of statements which we use now at the beginning of every service.

I know I am welcome in this church as I fall in a lot of categories listed. However, in all fairness, I need to ask this question: Is Jesus welcome in my life?

Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
