Don’t Give Up
Watch this video.
For over a year, the star of this video asked her mom for a puppy. In that time, I can only imagine how many references to having a dog of her own came up in casual conversation, at bedtime, when they went to the park, went for a walk, and most likely at Christmas. Her mom did not casually give in to the request as there were probably many factors that went into the timing of granting this gift.
Situations lie heavily on our hearts. For example, a loved one is sick, a prodigal is still missing, an addict struggles, your job title remains “Unemployed”, a relationship is strained, or (fill in the blank). We find ourselves daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly praying to God to help the situation we are facing; to heal, return, remove, provide or restore whatever it is we are experiencing that we do not want to experience any more.
And then God answers our prayers.
The girl in the video was moved to tears when she learned her request had been answered.
What is our reaction to God when he answers our prayers?
Matthew 7:11 (NIV)
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
