Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24

Just A Minute

Daily Prompt: Through the Window
Go to the nearest window. Look out for a full minute. Write about what you saw.

It’s lunchtime and I turn my gaze from my computer to peer out the window.

Today is a very grey day due to the temperatures at an unseasonably 54 degrees. It looks as if we are in the midst of a cloud and I cannot help but wonder what God is shielding us from since our range of vision is so limited. He has been known to hang clouds low to keep his people from the eyes of the enemy.

People are wearing boots, raincoats and carrying colorful umbrellas, as they cut through the fog trying to locate their car in the parking lot. Is there a parking lot? I am not certain. Thankfully many vehicles have automatic door lock/unlock buttons on their keychain that enable car lights to blink or the horn to sound; perfect for this type of day.

Country flags stand high on flagpoles wrapping around the driveway. Each flag tries to wave with the lift of the wind, however, the rain contradicts their effort. The trees lining the walkway stand naked at attention enjoying the warmer weather, if only for this day.

Lunchtime is over and my thoughts remain at the window as I gaze back into my computer.

Exodus 13:21 (NIV)
By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
