Constructed With Quilt Quality
I went for a drive today with a new friend to attend a quilt show. Through conversation during our time together, we realized that even though our age difference spans a little more than a decade, our interests and lives are very similar.
The quilts were amazing works of art as they told stories by way of fabrics, colors, patterns and threads. The well-thought-out details and hand stitching made us realize that quilters truly care about their work. A paragraph or two next to each quilt explained the inspiration behind the work on display.
Some quilts were works-in-progress begun by deceased grandmothers, and some quilts were made from a kit. A quilt kit contains the same amount of identical fabric and it is up to the quilter to choose a pattern for their quilt. No two quilts were the same even though they contained the same fabric.
God constructs us with quilt quality. We are men and women kits but no two are exactly the same. He gives us enough common interests so we can get along, but then he gives us enough individuality so we can see life through different perspectives. We are well-thought-out and hand stitched in the womb. We are God’s work of art.
Ezekiel 37:6 (NIV)
6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ “
